Continued from Page 3 of Episode 3.11: Emily Lake
Clue #1 that emotional devastation is approaching: The song "Running Up That Hill" by Track and Field (see below) starts playing and continues to increase in volume and pace. Clue #2: It's Warehouse 13.

weaponry, bursts into the hangar only to find it empty. Pete, having checked a second-level room, comes down the stairs looking shaken. When Claudia and Myka inquire as to what he saw upstairs, he tries to order Claudia to return to the car.
Sensing something terrible has happened, Claudia runs up the stairs towards the room Pete just left. Myka gently approaches Pete, trying to ascertain what's going on. That's when a loud grief-stricken wail erupts from Claudia on the second floor. Upon hearing this, Myka freezes momentarily, instantly putting all of the pieces together. In a purely visceral reaction, Myka screams out, "Claudia!" and starts running up the stairs towards her. Myka's penetrating scream is raw and powerfully unnerving, as it has a tone and quality to it that we've never heard before from her. That moment also reveals how incredibly deep the relationship between Myka and Claudia is. |
At the top of the stairs, we finally see what we were dreading: a murdered Agent Steve Jinks. The team is in shock and the episode cuts to black. End of 3.11: Emily Lake. *muffled sobbing
The last montage, and really the entire episode, is incredibly gripping and superbly done. Great storytelling, great acting, and overall, one of my favorite episodes of television. Period. Shockingly, this is not even how the season ends. There's still one more episode, 3.12: Stand, left to go and it is just as fantastic as 3.11: Emily Lake. It also, like 3.11: Emily Lake, tears out all of your emotions, throws them in a blender, and then presses "eviscerate," as well. So, take a deep breath before diving in.
