Speaking of Piper Chapman, when LCF is put into lockdown over Vee, the inmates are told to remain in their bunks until told otherwise. She turns into her space and immediately goes into her locker, pulling out a stack of correspondence - all from Alex. So, she did keep them! Yay! With a small, satisfied smile on her face, Piper starts going through her letters, one-by-one, taking comfort that the author of them is on her way back to her. Oh, Piper, what consequences will come from this? Clearly, she thinks the benefits are worth the risk. Only time will tell.
The rest of LCF is also trying to make due with their new lockdown time - Sophia is doing hair; Watson is being coached by Poussey on calisthenics; Taystee is regaling others of past tales of Vee; and heartbreakingly, Suzanne is in her bunk alone, tears pouring

down her face, while she clutches the pack of Uno cards she received from Vee. Her sobs continue to increase in volume, and, per usual, there is nothing but sadness when it comes to precious Suzanne. Request for season 3: happy Suzanne. PLEASE!
Outside, Morello is waiting in the van with Rosa, in the midst of the lockdown chaos. Officer Ford leaves to go check out what's happening, and after a moment of contemplation, Morello whispers to herself, "Fuck it," and unbuckles herself from the driver's seat. Quickly, she flips around and says, "Don't die in here, Miss Rosa. Go do it your own way." Oh my God! My heart is starting to race! Startled by this, Rosa asks, "What do I do?" Morello instructs, "Go fast." She then hops out of the van, puts her head down, and slowly walks towards Officer Ford, who says, "Prison's on lockdown. We need to get her back to rooms and get you back..." Before he can finish his sentence, they hear wheels screeching and the van drive off down the road. Lorna insincerely exclaims, "Oh, Lord in Heaven!" Office Ford starts running after the van in shock, with Morello jogging behind him, yelling, "Rosa, come back here! You're gonna get in big |
trouble, Rosa!" At the wheel, Rosa's eyes are wide and she speeds towards the exit, where Caputo, Sister Ingalls, Officer O'Neill, and a gaggle of nuns are congregating. Caputo is bringing Sister Ingalls out towards the sisters, in an effort to convince them to stop protesting LCF's treatment of her. While Caputo is coaching Ingalls on her speech to the nuns, he hears and espies the fugitive van careening towards them. He screams in alarm, "What the fuck?" Turning in panic, he screams towards the exit, "O'Neill, scatter the nuns!" Officer O'Neill shrieks, "RUN, NUNS! RUN!" and the women scatter like fireworks were set off in the middle of them. Horn blaring, Rosa drives straight through the entrance gate, shattering it, but luckily, taking no human victims with it.
The scene then shows Vee stumbling through the forest, trying to put as much distance as she can between herself and LCF. When the show cuts right back to Rosa after this, I'm guessing these two characters are about to reunite in the very near future. Rosa turns on the radio and switches to a channel playing "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult. If that isn't foreshadowing, I don't know what is.
As expected, Vee arrives at the road and looks back towards the oncoming vehicle, taking a moment to rest. Catching sight of her, Rosa's face tightens at the sight. Without any hesitation, Rosa gives Vee a final sneer and jerks the wheel directly in Vee's direction. The van brutally slams into Vee, who does not even move out of the way, like the proverbial deer in the headlights. Her body goes flying and lands with a thud on the side of the road, blood already dripping out of her nose. Her eyes staring at the rear-view mirror, Rosa unapologetically watches as Vee does not get up. Then she merely comments, "Always so rude, that one." Daaaaammmmnnnn!!!

The song takes over, and with a look of victory on her face, Rosa continues down the road, relishing the taste of freedom. In a moment of giddiness, she begins to laugh and morphs into her younger self. With sirens wailing in the background, the van blows down the road, and the screen cuts to orange.
And that, ladies and gentleman, is season two! Holy shit, what a way to end! Free Rosa, dead(?) Vee, and Alex Vause presumably on her way back to LCF. This show knows how to do finales; that's for damn sure. Rosa, I salute you!*
